Job Summary

Role Overview:
As a Depaneling Operator, you are responsible for separating individual printed circuit board assemblies from multi-board panels using manual or automated depaneling equipment. Your role requires precision, care, and strict adherence to handling and safety standards to avoid damage to components or boards. Prior experience in depaneling operations is essential.Primary Function:
To safely and accurately depanel PCBA units from panels using approved tools and procedures, ensuring product integrity and compliance with quality standards. 

Job Responsibilities

• Operate manual, semi‑automatic, and automated depaneling machines safely and correctly according to Work Instructions and product requirements.
• Inspect PCB panels before depaneling to verify correct orientation, tooling setup, cleanliness, and absence of pre‑existing damage.
• Handle boards using proper ESD protection, moisture‑sensitive handling practices, and safe lifting/placement techniques.
• Perform careful post‑depaneling inspection to check for cracks, lifted pads, broken traces, component damage, burrs, or mechanical stress marks.
• Maintain depaneling fixtures, blades, and working surfaces, and perform operator‑level cleaning and basic equipment checks to ensure smooth operation.
• Document depaneling results, quantities, scrap, and traceability information accurately in production logs, MES, or route cards.
• Identify and report abnormalities, such as miscut panels, fixture issues, tool wear, unclear instructions, or repeated defects to the Area Shift Leader or Shift Leader.
• Keep the depaneling workstation clean, organized, and ESD‑safe, ensuring safe handling of separated PCBs and routing of finished goods.
• Follow all approved procedures related to safe machine operation, blade/tool handling, and ergonomic best practices.
• Collaborate with Shift Leaders, Area Shift Leaders, Engineers, Quality Inspectors, and fellow operators to ensure correct depaneling methods and resolve issues quickly.
• Follow all safety, ESD, PPE, and equipment‑operation protocols, especially when working with rotating tools, blades, or cutting equipment.
• Support continuous improvement by sharing insights about stress points, fixture conditions, handling challenges, and opportunities to reduce breakage, rework, or waste.

Education level required •High School Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electronics or a related field.
Years and area of experience required •Minimum 2 years of experience in electronics manufacturing or PCBA depaneling.
•Prior experience with depaneling tools and techniques is required.
Technical knowledge •Familiarity with PCB panel layouts and depaneling methods.
•Understanding of mechanical stress and its impact on solder joints and components.
•Ability to read and follow work instructions and visual aids.
•Knowledge of ESD safety procedures and board handling standards.
