Job Summary
Role Overview:
As a Conformal Coating Quality Operator, you are responsible for inspecting and verifying the quality of conformal coating applied to printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA). You ensure that coating coverage meets specifications, identify defects, and support process improvements. This role requires a strong understanding of PCBA manufacturing, coating materials, and inspection techniques. Prior experience in PCBA production and quality control is essential.Primary Function:
To inspect and verify conformal coating quality on PCBA units, ensuring compliance with standards and supporting continuous improvement in coating processes.
Job Responsibilities
• Inspect conformal coating coverage on PCBA units using UV light and visual inspection techniques.
• Identify and document coating defects such as voids, bubbles, contamination, or misapplication.
• Verify coating thickness and ensure compliance with IPC and customer standards.
• Perform touch-up or rework of coating as needed using approved materials and methods.
• Maintain inspection records and traceability of inspected units.
• Coordinate with production and quality teams to resolve coating-related issues.
• Ensure proper handling of coated boards using ESD-safe procedures.
• Support process audits and quality reviews related to conformal coating.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-safe inspection area.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in coating quality and inspection methods.

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Instrumentation, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field. |
| Years and area of experience required |
• Minimum 5 years of experience in PCBA or Electronics components manufacturing, with at least 2 years focused on conformal coating inspection and quality control. |
| Technical knowledge |
• Strong understanding of conformal coating materials, application methods, and inspection standards.
• Familiarity with IPC standards for coating quality and PCBA handling.
• Proficiency in using UV light inspection and measurement tools.
• Ability to read and interpret coating specifications, work instructions, and quality documentation.
• Knowledge of ESD safety procedures and PCBA protection requirements. |
