Job Summary

Role Overview:
As an X Ray Quality Sampling Inspection Controller, you are responsible for performing X-ray inspection of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) to detect hidden soldering defects, component misalignments, and internal structural issues. You will operate advanced X-ray inspection systems, interpret images, and ensure compliance with quality standards. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and prior experience in PCBA manufacturing and quality inspection.

Primary Function:
To conduct X-ray inspections of PCBA units, analyze image data for quality assurance, and support defect detection and process improvements in compliance with IPC and company standards.

 

Job Responsibilities

• Operate X-ray inspection equipment to examine solder joints, BGA, and internal PCBA structures.
• Analyze X-ray images to identify defects such as voids, bridging, insufficient solder, and misalignments.
• Document inspection results and maintain traceability records.
• Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to report findings and support root cause analysis.
• Ensure inspection processes comply with IPC-A-610 and internal quality standards.
• Perform routine calibration and maintenance of X-ray equipment.
• Handle PCBA units using proper ESD protection methods.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-safe inspection area.
• Follow safety protocols and company procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in inspection accuracy and defect reduction.

Education level required • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
Years and area of experience required • Minimum 5 years of experience in PCBA or Electronics components manufacturing and quality inspection.
• Practical experience with X-ray inspection systems and image interpretation is required, especially with Omron X-ray brand is a plus.
Technical knowledge • Strong understanding of PCBA structures, soldering processes, and common defects.
• Proficiency in operating X-ray inspection systems and interpreting image data.
• Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards and quality inspection procedures.
• Knowledge of ESD safety and PCBA handling practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and inspection criteria.
